Sarah is the founder and owner of Sarah G. Carney LLC (2009-present). For nearly 30 years, she has been providing and producing people-driven, project-based, professional consultation to a wide variety of organizations focusing on sales, communications, marketing, and fundraising.
Sarah has served the people and places in her community as a contracted advancement professional by designing capital campaigns, major giving initiatives, annual funds and direct sales initiatives. She and her partners offer trusted guidance to foundations--large and small--and major corporate philanthropists, as well as a wide array of heritage, cultural, historical, and national landmark restoration projects at architectural treasures, museums, and major civic centers.
Sarah is the former Board Chair of Humanities New York and served New York State in this role 2017-2021; she earned her B.A. in History and American Studies at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. She is currently serving as volunteer leadership for the Erie County Bicentennial committee. She was the captain of the Colby Womens Ice Hockey Team and a member of the Division I squad for four years.
